2 Less Sciroccos

So I finally got off my ass and got the 84 out the door. We got it running
right and ran it through DEQ (OR state emissions Nazis) with flying colors
and got current plates. I ended up painting the faded bumpers and installed
some 16" TSWs with new Kumoh 205-40-16 skins. Here is a list of things I
did to the car:
Bought it for $250
New water pump and thermostat $50
Rebuilt entire front end with with new motor mounts all around $150
New battery $50
New clutch & pressure plate & clutch cable $100
Front alignment $50
Wheels $50
Tires $450
Chop 1 loop from front springs $0

Sold it for $1200
This does not include any of my time which was off and on for 10 months.
But just having it back on the road again is a great feeling and worth all
the time that I spent. I almost wanted to keep it after I had finished it
since it looked pretty good, for an S2 :) Here is a before and after photo
if you care to look.

I also got my 79 brazilian metalic scirocco up and out. It still has a
stutter on initial acceleration but hope to figure that out soon. It is
tagged and running which it has not been since 1998. That is also the car
we rebuilt the rusty floor pans and tunnel and converted it from automatic
with AC to 5 speed no AC.

Funny thing is that I sold the 84 to my brother and my best friend is now
driving the 79 so they really have not gone too far from daddy:) I am now
working hard to get the silver G60 project car to a point of turning the
engine over and my red 80s is next in line for a rebuilt 2.0L 16V. The fun
never ends with these cars. Later.
