rocco still not starting-advice please

ok so i attempted jumping the starter which i've done
plenty of times this summer without incident.  it is a
brand new starter.
why is not even spinning now?  i'm confused.  is it
possible i've damaged a brand new starter from turning
the car over without a successful start?  i hope not. 
wiring issue then?  somebody heeeelp.  cold weather is
fast approaching and i want to atleast have the car running.
