Bad wheel bearing symptoms?
Jack up the front of the car and grab the wheel from top to bottom and try to wiggle it then from front to back and try to wiggle it. If it wiggles excessively from front to back only then it's a tie rod or ball joint, if it also wiggles from top to bottom excessively then it's a bearing. Now you might not be able to see a discernable wiggle but if you're getting a whump whump then I'd guess that one side is going to seriously wiggle more then the other side. Don't go with the test of turning at moderate speed and loading each side to see which one makes more noise, that's not always acurate. I've seen it where loading the bearing makes it noisier and unloading it also makes it noisier.

Yup, sounds like a bearing, but beware, that low frequency type failure likes to actually end up on the opposite side of what you
thought by ear...
