Modified Euro Rear bumper install

Brendan, nice job on the bumper!  You mentioned you have done the body
filler before, how has it held up over time?
Next, I have a set of Euros I have to work on too.  The front and back
were both bumped just enough to bend the rebar however; the price was
right.  As you know the rebar on the Euros is very light duty.  I have
tried straightening them, which is not too difficult however; not enough
for all the plastic clips to seat properly inside the bumper. 
Has anyone tried an alternative mounting method for the Euro bumpers,
i.e. some sort of rebar delete/replace?
