OT: Other cars...anyone driven these?

my uncle drives the s2000, as well as the nsx

he says the s2000 is the best gearbox he's ever felt - he's a huge
car/tech nerd, so i believe he did his research. he other car is a
lexus suv, so he didn't buy the honda because it was cheaper than the
porche competitors!

i drove the s2000 once and it was pretty orgasmic. i (personally)
love the primal feel of naturally aspirated motors. i tell everyone i
know how awesome it was.

(i also just bought a 2k cabrio - surprisingly fun, surprisingly fast
and cushy - not as appliance-like as i feared - but i still haven't
been told what transaxle lube is best...hello listers?)

Being mid-engined, there's a bit more cockpit room in the Boxter, and the Porsche interior just screams money. The Honda has great ergonomics, but a little less wiggle room and doesn't make you feel quite as much like a movie star. The Boxter makes much better noise too, while the Honda just takes the familiar Civic noise and cranks it up to 11...not really bad, but not as cool.

The Honda is more visceral/raw and feels more like a real race car, with the big VTEC switch-over and a 9k redline. It is much easier to drive the Boxter, both around town and at the limit. The Honda is a bit doggy below 6k, and it takes some real skill to keep it above 6k in anything but a straight line. But if you can wring the neck of the Honda it is extremely rewarding. I'd say it is similar to all the STI vs. EVO discussions...but maybe even more distinct.

It was something more than 20 times...on a <60sec autocross course! Almost all 1-2 and 2-1 shifts, which are very difficult. The Boxters were shifting once or maybe 3 times on the same course, and put in similar times.
