Cincy date?
You guys are the greatest. I'll be there (weather permitting). The fact
that this deal is on an airport means I simply have no excuse for not being
there. I thank you all for the wealth of info out there on tuning and
common fixes for the 16V. I'm a former VW mechanic, but the details on
injection troubleshooting and tuning from www.scirocco.org are far better
than anything the Bentley could ever hope for!
Since I have your attention, I wonder if I could talk somebody out of a
black rear package shelf that would fit a 16V (Mk2, I presume)? I took mine
out to vaccum it and set it on the trash can. A big monsoon came along and
I ran inside, forgetting about the shelf. Next day was trash day, and since
it was sitting on the top of the trash can and soaking wet, my wife assumed
I wanted it trashed, and rolled it out to the street with the can. That's
the maddest I've ever been with her (which is not very, but you know how I
felt). Other than that, she's the greatest. Anyway, if somebody's got one
they don't need and can bring it, I'll pay a reasonable price for it. I
could make one out of composite or plywood (I have what it takes already),
but an original one would be nice, since my '87 16V is so original and
everything on it works perfectly.
Thanks again, and looking forward to meeting y'all...
