Rear calipers (MKIV adaptor hoses)

I remember, now. I had my MKIV carriers all painted and ready to go, but couldn't use them. You HAVE to use the MK1 carriers. The MKIV carriers are thicker and there isn't room for them to fit. Clearance problem between the rotor and carrier mounts, I think.
So, 100% sure now. Use the MK1 carriers with the MKIV brakes.

Brian, just wanted to check with you - the Mk4 calipers bolt up to the
16v rear carriers, correct? And all that is needed are the calipers,
pads/rotors, and the adapter hoses, right?

On 5/19/06, Brian Haygood <haygood@myway.com> wrote:
>
> Re: MKIV rear brake caliper adaptors for MK1's
>
>
>
> Here is the e-mail I sent to the guy with the best price on them by far. I e-mailed and/or called almost every eurospec dealer. Shipping was $3.50 or something. The adaptor hoses are made by Eurospec and look to be really well done. Totally pleased. Braking bias doesn't appear to have changed appreciably on my 16v, and it is certainly something that could be tuned by making adjustments to the stock brake bias valves on the rear lines. Anyway, I didn't notice that there was a difference.
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
> >$44 set, In stock.
>
> >Give me a call if you need to get a set on order.
>
> >
>
> >Cheers,
>
>
