axle replacement 86 jetta

The bolts are either 15 or 17mm. I set a wide screw driver in the compression slot after the bolt is removed to widen it.
Then step on the A arm and pull. It will pop off (yeah right :) and pivot towards the rear on the steering link.
Pull the axle and reassemble.
