Less than perfect method is to project the slide onto a small screen
(legal size paper) and take a digital camera shot.  Takes a little
cropping, touch up and enhancement with a .jpg editor as well.  You
can get slides scanned by a pro, but that costs $.  About .75 each
last time I checked.

Here's one of my first VW (RVing in a Swedish forest with US Army
equipment, late summer of 1971) that was done by the cheap method.
