Golf Trans. dying

I have 2 known good VW Rabbit auto trannies, if that will help.

I don't know if they are different, but I'm sure someone here will chime in,
or you can check with the dealer.

One trans came from a Cabby, and the other from Marc Getty's '84 Pickup
deal.

Trannies are located in Bear, DE 19701.

After much abuse, the automajic trans. in my '91 Golf is finally on the out
and out. I have found another auto trans. for about $500 but I have a lead
on a 5 speed for about half that. Any one know if the bolt pattern on A1
will work on A2? I really dont want to have an automatic again...
