That forward bolt goes near the center of the tire well, and is really only
there to prevent the assembly from pivoting on the u-bar.

Man, that looks a little drastic...

Is it necessary to cut the floor, to install that?

I want to make a custom receiver for my '83 Pickup, that would look like s
thin bumper, using the 4 factory holes on each side(from the stock twin
bumper), with a rectangular box, that runs across the back, right below the
tailgate, and fitting in between the rear tail-light fascia.
