My update
Thanks for the offer Dave, but Gordy in Oregon has mailed chunks of metal to me already. It should be here soon. If I find some thing else I may badger you for some metal :) I still have to get under the tank and fuel pump area.....
As an update, I started to weld in the spot weld holes today. I borrowed a welders blanket to protect the interior while I do so. I got 3 holes done and moved to the forth, flipped the welders hemet down and...
The damn thing broke at the hinges, snapped off at the head band. I did 3 more holes by blink method before giving up and started grinding again. Only about 30+ holes to go.
Once I have the new metal I can cut.grind and weld it in. So much for my summer
