Soda is good for fine stuff (I've seen the paint taken off of a soda can while preserving the aluminum), but it will take forever to
actually clean corroded parts. For that purpose I'd recommend using fine glass bead instead. It had a nack for removing rust /
paint, while not scratching the surface of metals. It effectively bead blasts the surface. Keep the pressure on the low side to
prevent shattering of the beads on impact. Also, the beads are so small, that you can use window screen as a filter medium and
re-use the glass almost indefinitely.
