Can we design and build a bio-diesel electric hybrid scirocco?

I agree. Sure, I like the idea and engineering of coming up with a
bio-electric hybrid Scirocco, and it would probably get a lot of attention
since hybrids are all the big hype now, but I'm a firm believer in
straight diesel technology, the 3L lupo a great example of that. Beats
every hybrid on the market in fuel economy and no stupid batteries to
every worry about replacing. (ask those early Honda insight owners about
those!!) Also why I'm going TDI for my Rocco, someday I'd like to have my
own Biodiesel rig and run B20 or B50 at least- and at the same time like
to have it fast enough to compete in auto-x/rally-x/road course stuff. I
figure 60 mpg would be obtainable if I drove it conservatively. (that's
the hard part!)

That being said, I still think a diesel-electric hybrid would be
entertaining concept in a Scirocco. I also feel that with the right
trimming of weight it could still be nimble enough to still be called a
Scirocco.
