Audi guage wiring questions

Hi everyone,
I am trying to wire in a 3 guage panel from an audi
4000.  I have the big 2 pin sensor from a cabriolet. 
My quiestion is wich pin goes to what.  I am assuming
one goes to the old idiot light & the other goes to
the guage?  Is this correct?  I am hoping the cabby
sender will work with the audi guages.
