VW hydraulic lifters require absolutely no maintenance, they last longer than the heads they are in, and they are completely quiet.

Hydraulic: 2, 1 tie
Solid: 1 tie

VW solid lifters seem to require NO maintenace, they last uber long, and they should be fairly quiet...
