Pics of the scirocco and a question about a hose

I like your car, it looks very similar to one of mine:)  I like the stock
rabbit wheels with the covers.  Your dash looks like it has no cracks from
that angle and the rest of the interior looks to be in good shape also.
Gotta love the brown interior and the golf ball shift knob.  Those upper
chrome strips look like the same ones that were on the 80 silver scirocco I
just got.  Anyone know if that was a stock trim option or just something
people did back then like pin stripes (shuddering of the thought).

The question is about the loose hose picture. What is that hose? The

I bet I have one of those vacuum delay switches.  I will look tomorrow.

An update on the car. I got the front brakes done and need to go to the

I have a set of brand new ones still in the original package.  A local auto
repair store was clearing shelves a couple of months ago and sold me 5 of
them for $5 each.  I could easily spare a set.  Could get it all in the mail
on Monday.

After all that rambling I have a question. Should I replace both cables

Oh, and Gordy's handles came in today. I replaced the pass door handle
