16v compatible transmission request (used, please)

i've determined 2 things:

1 - i can't afford a nice performance transmission right now

2 - i don't trust Beast to make it to one of the list's rebuild experts

so - does anybody have an old, SMS-proof/immune tranny i can bolt up
to my 16v?  it doesn't have to be perfect, just relatively leak-free
and low-cost so i can keep the machine alive until i have enough saved
up for a REAL transmission or a pro rebuild.
