radiator fan wiring harness swap

   i had to replace the fan on the cabriolet. the plug on the fan only 
had two wire connector going to it. i replaced the fan with one from a 
parts scirocco that has three connections on it. i was just going to 
swap the harness as well but i found that that cabriolet 1) does not 
have an a/c relay mounted in front of the batteries like the sciroccos 
and 2) one of the primary power connectors is different (single wire for 
the cabriolet vs. double wire for the scirocco). as i'm thinking that 
some of the older sciroccos didn't have the relay and/or a two 
connection fan, i was wondering if anyone has upgraded theirs to the 
three connection style or could help by letting me know what i'm 
missing. thanx.
