I had a similar problem with RoadKill my 1982 Rocco. RoadKill would experience a slapping sound coming from one of the front wheels. Sometimes it would occur when turning or sometimes just going straight. I was fearing the worst, so I decided to look at the front wheels.
Since I was going that far I decided to change the front pads (since who knows when they were last done) and that was it. The problem was just the old brake pads.
