More 85 drama - when will it just get me from A to B?

As you may have read, the 85 was finally driveable as of 1:00 AM today.  New
fuel pump.

Drove it to the dealer to pick up some small parts today.  Left there and
was pulled over by a cop 100 yards later for no front plate.  Talked my way
out of it and headed back down the road, until I reached the next light -
the clutch pedal went to the floor and clutch failed to disengage.


Unbelievable.  This reminds me of my first car, a 75.


Drove 15 miles home on a busy rush-hour highway (with traffic lights) with
no clutch whatsoever.

SOOOOO, now I need a clutch (the cable, rod, lever, etc. were fine).  I'm
contemplating the diff bolt kit and a .75 5th for the 9A while I'm in there.
rear main seal and other stuff going in, of course.

I resisted the urge to tear into it and pull the trans, because it the
garage blockage would impound my boat...I hope to go fishing again someday.

IS THIS CAR TESTING ME??!!!!???
