Buzzing relay
Yeah, but... If it's a faulty ground, depending on how bad the ground is, it
could still work, but act strange. Also check the bulb socket contacts for
oxidation.
The Mk.1 turn signals are known for having bad grounding issues.
I had one with a solid state relay at every turn signal and brake lead, done
by the PO.
I also remember having to add a ground at each front turn signal bulb on an
'80 S, because it just wasn't bright enough for the inspector. Adding the
grounds made them a little brighter, and might silence your relay.

When in the rest position is when it either buzzez or (the new one) clicks.
When set, it clicks normally and drives the lights.
Ok studying the "Book" I see the 3 pins. Power comes in eith on 4 or 19
(fuse) through the hazzard switch then to the directionals.
The directionals allow a ground via the light bulbs to trigger the timer to
flash the lights.
Since it clicks when in the center, then there must be a ground someplace
between the relay and the hazzard switch.
Whelp, back out tomorrow and get this right....
