OT: How to rip and burn favorite episodes from a DVD

How do you think I "acquired" the Star Trek: The Next Generation and
BattleStar Galactica?  (New and old)

I made "backups".

Because at one time I legally owned them.  I don't currently but at
one time I did.  So in respect to the piracy laws I don't watch them
very much ;) as the DVD's that I borrowed--er I mean used to own, are
no longer in my possession.

I archive for "historical" purposes.  LOL
