Help - Clutch release arm not returning - Now the Trans is out

I wonder how that rivet head came off and worked its way into the pressure
plate assembly... If it was wedged in with the disc at all it could have
caused the pedal to not release fully (as the clutch itself could not engage
fully).
I would check all fingers from the pressure plate, ensuring they all sit
even (i.e. the metal piece did not cause any of them to bend).
A quick check regarding the clutch pushrod is easily done with the reanny
off of the car - with the arm fully up, the pushrod should extend ~1/4" from
the end of the input shaft. Actuating the arm should smoothly extend the
pushrod slightly more than 1/2".
