Perversity of the mark

I have had a "free" cabby for a couple of years and struggled with it the whole time. Alex practiced driving in it a couple of times and once, immediately after my new garage was up in 2003, ran into it (gently, but still contact made). At that point the main set of keys including the ONLY gas cap key became lost. I had it quit on me last spring and it felt like an electrical issue. Since reconsidering I decided to put the rest of the gas I had for the mower, etc in and try it. I pried out the rest of the cap and poured in the now expensive stuff and found out the battery is dead (surprise, surprise, surprise). While waiting to let the charger do its magic and reaquainting myself with the interior what should I find but the set of keys complete with the gas key. Not a half an hour from cap destruction to the car's reliquishing its secret. If it wasn't a VW, I'd start thinking it didn't like me.
