Most power in an A1?

Well I started with an '84 Euro GTI motor with 10:1 compression and solid lifters.  I had Drake do a "Big Valve Head" Job with a 426 cam and Drake's recurved distributor.  I added a 50hp shot of nitrous.  So far, I still have my original crossmember.  My conservative estimate is 160hp.  I've had the motor for about 20 years.  Of the 20 years, the last 8 years with nitrous and the last 18 years with a red poly front mount.

What's the most power you've ever seen in an A1 VW?

What about something that worked for more than a few goes?

I want to hear about +150hp [single motor] applications that lasted 
longer than the front crossmember and if I don't, I will figure either 
it didn't or they did.
