starting issues after installing cam

Offhand, I'd say the cam install is most likely the problem.  Check and 
re-check everything.
Does it backfire, or fire AT ALL?

Try re-installing the original cams just as a first step in eliminating 
possibilities.  I know you don't really want to do that, 
but....................
