MK2 rear view mirror & Rant

Anyone have a MK2 power mirror for the passenger side door? The one on my
car is missing the glass and the motors do not seem to work.

Update on the Bronze 84. Just put in new driver side wheel bearing, both
upper strut bushings, both tie rods, ball joints, re-greased and
re-booted both outer cv joints, and new set of control arm bushings. Hope
to get all the motor mounts replaced today.

Small rant... local Import auto store sold me 1 tie rod end and 1 tie rod
assembly to replace the solid tie rod arm. Both pieces were from a company
named Meyle. The tie rod end that came with the new tie rod looked like the
original and used the castle nut and cotter pin. The tie rod that came by
its self used a smaller shank threaded end and came with a lock nut. Now I
am not Heman but using enough strength to tighten the nut and make sure the
tie rod end was seated in the arm from the hub ended up stripping the
threads out of the nut! Imagine if that nut would have stripped out and
backed off after 5000 miles or so of driving. That is the whole purpose of
the castle nut and the cotter pin to make sure that it will never back off.
I am happy that actual German parts can be had here in the states but I wish
they would not change how things are done.
