No that is a matter for 16v knowledgable folks..

Oh yeah I have one, it broke down, I just drive my jeep... Anyone want
an 1988 16v, needs a drivers side cv axle.
(I just can be bothered to constantly repair a scirocco.... I tried
but, its just too annoying...)

BTW... after talking to him... I screwed up--he's from Tenn.  Was at
cincy last year with the Fox wagon.  I reinvited him to the jedi
