that's exactly how it is.

i have 8-12volts to 'terminal 50' - the terminal with 2 wires

i have 8-12volts at the lower bolt that goes to the coil (i think).

bentley says at this point i should replace the starter - already  
tried tapping it (after i did all the other tests).
