Giggle Giggle Giggle
install vnc on both systems. install and run etka on the desktop (at the higher res), but run it while controlling it from the laptop in the garage. vnc lets you scroll around on the window of the system which you are controlling. as soon as you hit the edge with the mouse cursor, the window pans across. i can seamlessly control my home pc (1920x1200) from work (1024x768).
http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/ (stable)
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=63887 (release candidate, newer)
for other listers interested in remote control software, this is one of the best out there, mainly because it installs a video hook driver on the server machine, which means it doesnt have to constantly poll the screen for changes - it gets them direct from the video driver.
i love the fact that the best programs tend to be the free ones.

I have a 19 inch monitor... however I don't have one that I am willing to leave in my garage. I have an old laptop that I am willing to sacrifice to elements... but not the monitor. Not to mention it may be semi beneficial to have a copy handy on the way to and while I am at Cincy.
Well actually if I am on the road and I need a part number from ETKA I am prolly screwed ANYHOW... LOL
Thanks for the help.

Anyone find out how to downsize the ETKA resolution...
I am sure this was covered and I missed it.
TIA
