Meeting folks for the first time is often a bit awkward.  It's not necessarily a tight group but
those of us who have gone for a few years naturally have become better friends, and therefore look
forward to seeing each other every year, and have more to talk about on list and off.  So, I
suggest you dive on in.  Nothing bad can come of it.
