Year, make, and model come up in all states, body style comes up in most and
color is optional. There's a field for it in MVD records in AZ, but most of
the time the MVD clerk will not enter the color. What's even worse is that
they're left to make their own abreviations for model. I've seen some
interesting ones. A 79 Scirocco could end up a 1979 VOL SHI CPE or 1979 VOL SHI
2HB if the dummy didn't know how to spell scirocco. They make up the body
style a lot, too. They may call it a coupe (CPE) or 2 door hatchback (2HB) or
just plain hatchback (HB). The accuracy of the information is all dependant on
a low paid government human unit in the end.
