Shipping will be a problem. Boxes are heavy, very heavy, so that they
don't flex under load.
Buy the driver(s) were you can to get the best deal but buy your box local.
Of course a friend with a table saw and/or some hand tools and a trip to
the local supply store can have one fabricated in the garage in a couple
of hours (actually quicker but you need time to let the glue set).
DIY and speaker put into Google will find lots of stuff.

Yes, but keep in mind the fact that in a properly designed speaker, the
driver is "mated" to the cabinet, with the volume of the cabinet, whether or
not it is ported, length and diameter of the port etc. being dependant upon
the driver used.
Frequency response, free air resonance, etc. of the driver all come into
play.

Also please consider a couple of relatively small (8 or 10") drivers, rather
than, say a 15", which in the Scirocco will leave a big hole in the sound
(ie no midbass).
