I have heard that G11 corrodes VR6 head surfaces but I have kept the
blue in my VR6 changed and never had any problems. I have also heard,
possibly from AWE tuning if I recall, that the only VR6 heads showing
that problem were ones that had their blue turn acidic, indicated
clearly by color, it turns greenish/yellowish/brownish. So the coolant
in those cars had clearly turned color a long time prior. That was
what was great about the blue, it had a litmus dye in it so you knew it
was bad. If allowed to turn acidic, yes, it will eat heads. If you
keep it changed, then it's the best one out there IMHO.
And yes, Dexcool sucks especically in our vehicles. GM started finding
that it really gunked systems up that were not keep 100% full, i.e.
there was some air in them. Remember US cars are different, the main
circuit is not supposed to have any air in it and the expansion tank is
just a catch tank, no circulation through. Our systems have air in
them by design, so it's a very bad idea to use Dexcool.

The G-12 is fine but the G-11 coolant has problems. Many of the early
VR6's had problems where the coolant actually ate away the aluminum
cylinder head. Most of the guys that I know (myself included) switched
over to the G-12 to avoid having problems.
Just a not though. Apparently the G-11 and G-12 don't play well
together so you need to flush the system very well to avoid comingling
of the coolants.
