Hot, Hot HOt!! (suggestion to bring doen the oil Temp)
My old auto rocco also ran some high oil temps like that...that automatic
just makes that poor 1.8 work that much harder (especially at highway
speeds).
I never saw any issues with coolant temp, only oil temp like you are. I
ended up replacing my oil pump, made little to no difference. (I was
having low oil pressure at the high temps...cured my oil pressure problem,
but nothing really on the temps).
Thicker oil made the problem worse (20-50 dino oil), finally I changed to
a 5-40w sythn (shell rotella T synth) this helped bring temps down a
little...but ultimate solution would be to add a air/oil oil cooler. (this
can be done on the cheap using junkyard volvo parts)
I sold mine before I ever added a cooler.
