Milder? Dunno about that. I grabbed the chance to ride in anything boosted.
First was Rose, Chuck's gorgeous ABA/MS MkI, and though she's in the early
stages of tweaking, I'd hestitate to say she's mild. I also had the
delightful experience of driving Ben's 1.8T beastie, I'd driven it with the
powerful 2L, and this is a whole different ballgame. Nowhere near Kansas,
Dorothy. Given only one, that might be THE one. Handles like it's on rails,
and it's fucking fast. (Though Brett's white beauty tops the MkII lust
list) Then there was Carrots, she's deceptive, even in the heat, that 1.9
head over the 1.6 bottom scoots along nicely in all her sooty glory, and
she's such a solid, comfortable ride. Mmmm....leather. Lots of grins. :)
:) :)

All three are really well built cars, it was a delight to experience all
of them. I'd have mooched a few more boosted rides, but I had a few other
fun things to throw in, a ride for lunch in Mike Potter's "Rent'A'Stang",
the new Mustang in "Arrest Me Yellow", and Jason's 911 for a coffee run.
And Brad's sand rail, it's as raw as the twin as far as comfort goes. But a
lot cooler. Air cooler. Push your cheeks back cooler. And rides/drives in a
bunch of Daun's vehicles, including the 172. I could have lived without the
after flight flying though, I got thrown across the back of Daun's Passat,
it pulls some pretty good Gs for a grocery getter. I know he was trying to
kill me.

As for my car? There is something seriously wrong with her, a nice steady
idle, oil temps just above 100C, no rattles or dribbles, super fuel economy
and on and on, it's just not natural. She's plotting something really big.
I just don't trust her, she's up to no good.

As usual, it was a true pleasure to see all of those who were there, and I
missed those who weren't. Salty, Dennis says you haven't reported in yet.
Not that there's much to report, well, except that I showed Allyn my rack.
But he paid me in USD, pretty hard to resist

It was a very relaxing weekend for me, a slow burn of excitement, and so
far no serious PCD, it will come though. It always does. How many days till
Cincy '06?
