1979 brake lines

Your local import parts store should have various lengths available
pre-flared with nuts.
They're cheap! They're easy to bend and install.
Do not pull a replacement line out of a junk yard unless you want to relive
your current experience again!
On a 79 the lines running to the rear are damn long and almost impossible to
route in one piece.
I'd suggest you replace each side with two new tubes with a flare union in
the middle.
See the other thread "Brake line removal/repair/replacement (Something?)
help"
Rerouting the lines under the body like the later cars is a major PITA,
mostly because the mounting tabs need to be welded in place. It's difficult
and it burns the undercoating.
