Exporting a car



I respectfully disagree.  There is a chance that items can be taken out of a
car or that a car can be damaged,  but you get insurance and these people
are responsible for the condition of the car.  If all incoming cars were
damaged or had stuff stolen from them, do you think the dock workers would
still have their jobs?

I shipped dozens of cars (to Amsterdam and Rotterdam) and never had a
problem.  I have even loaded them with parts and american clothing and
nothing went missing.  I'm not promising that it'll never happen; I'm just
sharing my experience.  It might depend heavily on the ports used.  I
shipped out of Newark, NJ.

A 40 foot container is pretty expensive....you'd better have some stuff to
put in there or maybe the car alone is worth it.  Last one I shipped, I
packed with motorcycles and Porsche 356.  They had fun tying all the various
items down, I'm sure, but it made it ok.
