CIS Rev. Limiter
As far as I know the fuel cut on the 8V engine is in the fuel pump relay. I
swapped relays on one occasion and my engine acquired a 6200 RPM redline
down from the 7000 set in the Haltech. German auto parts or Potterman can
probably fix you up with the fuel pump relay that does not have the rev
limiter. IIRC it's out of a Fox, but don't quote me
I don't know that I'd worry about a lean condition though. The engine goes
from full fuel to no fuel. It's as hard a cut as a full ignition cut type
rev limiter. As a matter of fact it's so hard it busted my clutch!
Euro CIS has no frequency valve. It's just like the early non-O2 sensor CIS
with the possible exception of a differently shaped air flow cone for more
fuel flow.
If your engine has KS ignition, then that also has a rev limiter, but it's
higher than 6300.

Hey everyone,
I know this question has most likely been beaten to death but I keep reading
different answers on Vortex and other internet sites.
I have an 85 Scirocco with is running CIS, I thought I was running euro CIS
but I am still run a Computer and from what I read Euro CIS doesn't is this
true?
How do you get ride of the 6300 fuel cut? I am asking simply for two
reasons my motor is built to pull to7,000 and second I don't feel like
losing my motor due to a lean condition.
I have read you can bypass the fuel pump relay but is there another way to
get rid of the fuel cut? If I was to get rid of the fuel cut is there still
an ignition rev limiter?
Please response with any information you might have.
Thanks
-Brian
