Poll - Go mk2? was: Replacement Fuse Panel

Addendum:

The fuse panel has a jillion pieces of metal in there and you can open
it to check for corrosion but you will never close it again. Up here in
the Northland (or anywhere else where old cars actually age) things are
different than in Cali where it almost never rains and if it does it
rains on non-rusty cars whose itty bitty copper bits never go through
extreme temperature cycles.

If you are sourcing a used fuse panel, look for a total absence of
corrosion on the outside to not waste time installing one with yuk on
the inside. It may be possible to find a 79 Audi Fox in a yard in Santa
Mongelica with a decent one but you'd be wasting your time yanking
that from a yard anywhere else and putting it in if brand new is only
$100. Someone a few weeks ago said they could get new for $55. It all
depends on whether your stock plug and play application is even available.
