You can make your money back on the motor and FI if everything fails. I say

You don't have to take off the manifold to change plugs. I doubt the audi
stuff would work. It would be best to find an A3 donor car . you need the
pedal cluster, trans, ecu and a few other bits I'm sure. There are a bunch
of threads on vw vortex about it. It's for sure worth $350. You could part
it for quite a bit more
