RE: Mk1 Hatch filling with water

Ron, I found that there are 2 plastic plugs along the sides of the rain 
gutter of the rear hatch. I sealed them by welding small tabs of metal.
I did that 2 years ago and no more leaks!
Try silicone and see if that helps.
