Re: S&S headers; general header comments
I don't know, Rick - the header in your pix looks a lot more like the
Supersprint unit that the one in the link you just fwd'd except w/ a
reinforcement bracket welded into the head port flanges...and if it is,
you're better off anyway.
This is the Supersprint unit:

If it is the Supersprint model, I'm sure you can get new coupling. Go here:

The list was able to identify the header from the posted pictures as an
S&S header. I have found a link to the new S&S header and attached it
below.
If you look at the header and description you will see there is a ball
and socket connection at the collector end that acts as the flex joint.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of flex joint? Does it
leak? Is there a better aftermarket flex joint available that I can
weld in place of this one?
The header I picked up has a one piece flange on the end that mates to
the head, the one pictured in the link below appears to have each tube
as a stand alone. I fitted the header to a spare* 16V head and it does
mate correctly.
Thanks, Rick.

*this spare head does not have any cam bearing caps so this is the first
time it was of any value!
