Clear Coat Paints

Hi.  I'm in shock because I was just quoted over $700 for 3qt.s of color plus clear coat, reducer and hardener for my '95 Passat, errr, I mean Scirocco with 4 doors (hey, it's content because I used the work Scirocco, right?).  



The paint is Deltron by PPG.  Apparently they can't make my color (Ruby Red) with their "economy" paint.  I'm hoping someone out there has a suggestion for me.  I started sanding the paint off of the car this weekend assuming that I could get paint a lot more cheaply than that, so I have really screwed myself.  



Are there any on-line automotive paint stores that can help me out?

Any other hope before I decide to attack the car with a can of black Krylon?
