plastic thing by steering column

[scourge at cogeco.ca (Scourge)]

It's in the same position as the diesel "choke" in A2 golf/jettas.
For me, it was the perfect place to put my home brewed A/F meter. It's out
of direct view, so it's not pissing me off when I don't need to watch it.
