Euro bumpers, one more time for the dummy

My youngson presented his oldcrock dad with a pristine set of Euro bumpers 
last night.

I seem to remember some threads that indicated the Euro take a different 
mounting bolt than the stock US-spec units (MkII).  Is my memory correct, or 
is it going the same way as the rest of my senses / functions?
  I suppose I'll find out soon enough, but thought I'd take this opportunity 
to add one semi-intelligent question to the mix.

Also, the Euros leave a gap between them and the filler piece between the US 
units and the grille?  or something like that.  Plus, they are BLACK! 
ack!.   I always thought Euro meant, like, "mono-chromatic".  ??
