out! <
At least you found out before you went on the road! I can tell you a story
about that sort of thing myself! I'll shorten it.
I had listened to a little voice (that gaurdian angel we all have but don't
all listen to. ;-) ) and pulled over to the side of the road for something.
Well, I put the car in gear, started to pull off and got about 6 inches when
WHAM! It was LOUD! I knew no one had hit me cause the car didn't move any
farther. LOL! AT ALL! I thought "What the hell was THAT?!" So I go to
put it in neutral and the gear shift will NOT move even a millimeter! So I
turn it off and put on the emergency break, open the hood to try to figure
out what it wrong. Can't find anything there. So, I get down on the ground
(keep in mind I have a short skirt on. With a pair of shorts underneath at
least. LOL) and since the linkage wont move I check there. HOLY SHIT!
EVERY bolt that holds the driver's side CV axle on the transmission side has
come out and is sitting there! Every last one! 6 bolts just sitting there!
And I am on A1A! At first I was PI$$ED! Cussing the car and that. Then
it hit me. I had just been doing 80 on the interstate shortly before that!
Holy Cow! What if that had happened THEN instead?! LOL! I looked up and
said Thank you God! Well, started walking to Patrick Air Force base, (was
headed there and had about a mile to the front gate), a couple had seen me
and turned around and came back and took me to the BX so I could call hubby
to come out with the right tools. (Thank God I could tell him exactly what
was wrong so he knew which tools to bring. Lord knows I had worked on that
car enough!)
Went in the BX and shopped 'til he got there. Then we had to repair it
there on the side of A1A. Heaven only knows how those bolts came loose but
they did. And not one missing. Not that I needed it, but it confirmed my
beliefs for sure! LOL!
What are the chances off all of that going just right? Can you tell I'm an
optimist instead of a pessimist? LOL!
Ok, shutting up now. LOL!
Hugs!
Carol
Rocc on!
