oxs light

My "OXS" light came on last night, driving home in the rain.  My car
has a history of doing strange things when it is very damp (for 2 days
the radio stayed on after the key was removed).
So, since I'm sure it's been dealt with before, what's the best plan of action?
I think it has a JH motor - I was told it was a 2 liter, but isn't the
jh a 1.8?  Where I've been told to look for the motor code, I don't
see a JH, I just see an H.
