Hot tanking...at home?

Is it possible that I could get some kind of chemical to clean up my block 
on my own if i got a tub or something to hold the solution and the engine 
block in?   Would I be using some harsh chemicals or anythign?

Having rough luck finding a place that can do it in my small town.
